I do find him to be one of the best guitar-musicians on the planet. It's just a shame most Americans have never heard of him.

About the only way most Americans would have ever heard of him was if they were avid listeners of public radio. And because I've met far too many Americans in my life that have admitted to never going further down the dial than 92.1 Mhz, I'm not surprised that most haven't heard of Nelson, or Negativland, or Emergency Broadcast Network, or Einsturzende Neubauten, or Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, or Brian Eno, Layne Redmond, or Bill Laswell, or Tomita, or... well, you get the picture
