Well, the paper work is done...

Now the hard part. Picking an apartment.

I have five apartment complexes to choose from. Four have studios . This is going to be hard. They are all really nice places with all the amenities you want and need. Going to have to do a lot of study of the places. Have only 3 weeks to decide.

Are any of the complexes in a better location then the rest? It would probably be nice to pick a place with a decent neighborhood and everything you need close by.

Close to main bus routes, libraries and markets. What I am happy for is that I have Four places with Studio openings! I love studios!

You'll get a better feel of the neighborhoods.

They all sound nice but one will outshine the others.

Also talk to people who live in each complex -- the properties may look nice, but there may be a problem resident or two that might make it a bad deal. (I live in a great neighborhood with fine neighbors, except for the one crack house that is directly across the street. ) Also look for nearby liquor stores, tire rubber on the roads from speeding or donuts, loud motorcycles, and residential car repairs in driveways.

Never had anything really bad but even small petty apartment politics can make you wish you had chosen somewhere else, especially is there is someone particularly nasty and vocal.

Very important. I lived in a nice area of Woodland Hills, too, but there was one guy who cranked up the stereo at around 4 a.m. For some reason the cops never did anything about it.

she told me she checked out the parking lot. If she had the nicest car, she wouldn't rent there.

As someone said above you will know the place when you see it. What a wonderful thing to have choices! I am so so very happy for you, LFR.

I would suggest looking on the internet. I don't know specifically where to point you but there are review and comment sites out there for just about everything and anything now.
