Having a fun but hard time with the google crossword puzzle

I am feeling like a noob now. Trying to finish the puzzle without using google.

I must have done it wrong since I can't find the 12 instances of fun. I'm coming up short on 11.

I love crosswords, but I don't really like the computer ones. There is too much mouse work.
A side story--when I started dating Jeannie, she told me she was the crossword queen.
As a bricklayer, I wanted to prove that I had a brain. She copied two like puzzles and we had a contest.
I was done before she was halfway. We're still together. 12 years later.
