Post some good customer service stories...

Good customer service is so underrated in today's cut throat dog eat dog world. But a good customer service experience can easily make a life time customer out of someone and the word of mouth advertisement you get from it is invaluable. What are some of your good experiences?

Recently my father has become a big Canucks fan and has taken to watching every game. We have a PVR upstairs in our house on which my mother records her Chinese soaps and dramas. But my father prefers to watch the games on the larger TV in the basement. So recently we went to the cable store (Shaw Cable) looking to pick up another PVR. We talked to the guy at the counter going over our various options. It was clear we didn't want to spend too much. We had almost settled on renting a box for an extra $8 a month when the guy said, " You know what I'll rent you last years model (same as the one we already have) for free. You guys have been with us forever." That really made our day

the rattle popped up recently, i took the car in for an alignment and it was gone when i picked it up. i didn't even ask them to do anything with it. i was blown away when i noticed the noise was gone.

I just had a terrible experience with a company I adore. I'll put a link to your thread in mine.

And this woman who originally had my seat in the exit row was "saving" it for her brother who was injured. Well federal laws say you can't do that. They made the woman relocate her seat. So I'm witnessing a verbal exchange happening between the flight attendant and the passenger over something that the passenger has no control over. So during the flight I get up to use the rest room and I start talking to the flight attendant about what just happened. And we both agreed that woman had no right to complain. Well long story short I got the whole exit row to myself and a free drink out of it.

It's an area cable company many people love to hate, but the service is good, at least in my opinion.

Anyway my internet service went down just before dinner time one sunday and after calling customer service and running tests, it was decided I had a hardware problem; bad modem. They said they'd send out a tech, and so I'm thinking it won't be before some time monday, since it was the weekend. Well 8:30 that same night I get a knock on the door, the service tech. He had a new modem, which he replaced, then proceeded to go out around the house checking wiring and cleaning and replacing grounds and terminal ends. Total time without service was only about 3 hours.

Nothing major, but I was impressed, and I was happy.
