This first line business seems to be a Russell Davies/Steven Moffat thing: the first thing their doctors comment on is some body part (teeth, legs, kidneys).

I'd like to see someone replace Moffat as showrunner; it seems like it's time for a change.

Nothing against him, he's written some of my favorite episodes. The Empty Child and Blink for example. But lately, I just don't know. There's something missing.
