Speaking of yard critters, we've been watching turkeys in the top of a tree next door

The next-door neighbor has some kind of ornamental front yard tree, probably 15' high, that had red fall foliage and was left covered in red berries. Since the foot of snow that recently followed the ice storm, the local wild turkeys (3-5) have been flying up and perching in the top of his tree, oblivious to road traffic, eating whatever kind of berries those are. They are fucking HUGE and obvious, they must be desperately hungry to throw caution to the wind like that.

Then immediately after the turkeys leave, the local crows are on the ground under the tree, nabbing whatever berries fell off. Completely ignoring the cat food I set out for them. (or maybe the grey squirrel got all of that; squirrels are cute piggies)
