Name a so-called "catchy" song that you don't actually find very catchy.

You know, songs that people will admit aren't deep masterpieces but people will claim are fun to listen to. That they stick in your head, that you'll stop scanning on the radio just to listen to them, or even sing along.

Except when you don't actually find them all that "catchy" at all, but either boring or obnoxious, and if you come across them on the radio, you're just as happy changing the station.

A couple that come to my mind:

"Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke. People loved this song, claimed it was the song of the summer, Miley Cyrus did some weird twerking thing to it at the MTV awards, etc. Me? Don't really care for it that much. I find it rather repetitive, flat, and dull. And that's not even taking into account complaints by some that its lyrics are misogynistic. (I'm of no opinion on that. I'm just not that impressed by the song as a whole.)

Another one: "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore. And for that matter, "Can't Hold Us", also by Macklemore. Really don't get all the Macklemore love. I first saw him on SNL and I literally thought he was a skit parodying a real musical artist. And his songs are more earworm-educing than catchy. Okay, so you like to go shopping at thrift shops. Okay, you think you're fucking awesome. Is that really worth writing a song about?

Feel free to disagree, or to add your own submissions.

Almost all of that modern radio pop. On the bright side, I never have to worry about earworms. Tom Ripley Jan 2014 #1
Most modern pop is bad, but some of it is still catchy. Tommy_Carcetti Jan 2014 #2

On the other hand, you have pop songs that are both bad and yet not catchy, and it leaves you scratching your head as to the song's popularity.
