The Evolution of a Space Oddity...

An amazing song was written in 1969...

Some how turned into this in 1983...

Which turned into a commercial for the Lincoln MKS in 2009...

And then got a "dubsteb" remix by Adam K and Soha in 2011...

So who in your opinion did it best (realizing they aren't the same song, but all connected)?

as he's just a whole 'nother universe of talent from the others - however as a person who reached the age of majority in the early 80s I must admit I like the Peter Schilling song.

Apparently it's evil that Commander Hadfield would CHANGE THE LYRICS TO A CLASSIC!

Oh noes!

Apparently these numb nuts haven't thought that someone who's actually in space wouldn't necessarily want to sing the parts about burning up during re-entry.

Bowie's "Ashes to Ashes" (1980) is sort of a "sequel" or at least a look back at the Major Tom character.
And his "Hallo Spaceboy" (1995) was related, though didn't mention the Major Tom character by name, but the Pet Shop Boys did a remix of it in 1996 that did.
