Woo!Hooo! Finally got 2 points toward re-certification!

Every 3 years we need to complete 36 credit hours of continuous ed to maintain our ASCP med lab tech certification. Naturally I postponed any work on it until year 3. I was waiting to get high speed internet and winter so I'd have the necessary speed and indoor time.

There are all ways to complete the training hours, but the simplist is to simply join for a year and pay $30 for complete access to their computer-based training. So naturally that's the way I chose to go.

Last week, I was excited to sit down and get going. I was in education mood. I found some interesting looking courses to take. For my first, I picked St. John's Wort / drug interactions. Read through the material, took copious notes as always. Went to take the test. No test: no credit. "Test not available" I spent the next hour and a half trying to call, chat, set up call back. Phone busy. Sat on hold forever. Waited on chat forever. Concurrent phone hold and chat wait forever. Somewhere in there, I finally reached the "call you back within 24 hours" phone and left message for call back. Finally, after an hour and half, and getting thrown off "wait" multiple times, somebody answered the freakin' chat. She couldn't diagnose it, but did mention they were having web issues that day. Just. My. Luck. The next day, I got an email from the chat telling me to call the customer assistance line. I wrote back,"No. I spent an hour and a half yesterday trying to get through. Not wasting any more cell phone minutes or time."

Today I sat down and tried again. This time I picked a course on allergies. Finished the course. Go to take test: I've timed out and it won't let me login. That's how last week started (although by the time I reached the chat, I'd forgotten how it started."

So I called customer service. Voila! Somebody answered. While we were talking, I brought up the site again and lo! and Behold! THERE WAS THE ASSESSMENT. Meantime, she discovered the herb assessment was also now available.

Took allergy assessment. First thing I saw was 50 / 100. Freaked out. Then realized I got 50 points and 100%!!!!!!

Then went back and quickly skimmed through the St. John's Wort. Just finished the assessment. 50/100 AGAIN!!!

The assessments are short -- just 5 questions -- but very detailed, so you must have read all the bloody details and gotten all that info, and understood what you are reading.

Time for a glass of mead and another episode of Cheers! Woo!Hoo! 2 points down. 34 to go. Need to get them done before October. I'm on. my. way.
