It was from an old 401k that we had cashed out a while ago. I guess they found some money.
What would you do with it?

(23,208 posts)The IRS will come looking for that, even if it costs them thousands of dollars to squeeze it out of you. Trust me on this, I worked for them many years ago. Their motto is, "We don't care."

(1,485 posts)my older brother received a bill from the phone company for a penny. He still has the photocopy. It was sent through the mail--all there was at the time.
Just don't spend it all in one place.

(34,136 posts)Her best time was when she bought a new van that had a leak in the windshield. The service department simply would or could not fix it. After months of trying to get it dealt with, trying to work with the dealer on taking back the van (more than half the mileage was driving it to the dealer to leave it with the service department) she made an appointment with the dealership owner.
The same day she notified a local TV station and painted LEMON" down the side. She went in with the TV crew, talked to the owner and offered to take him on a ride in the van he claimed his service department had fully repaired. He agreed to go for the ride, but when he saw what she had painted on the van, he refused. Twenty four hours later, his people called, took the van back refunded ALL her money, and got a promise from her to never buy another vehicle from them again.
Like I said - I plan to NEVER get on her bad side!
