Woot, recruiter just called me for Tech Support position.

I look good on a resume, have great experience but when they see a women in her 50's, I will be discriminated against for not being young geeky guy. Seen it time and time again.

I even went to an open interview at McDonald's for cryin' out loud and all of these teenage girls with halter tops and tattoos walked in and I bet you a 1000K one of them got the job. I'm really rooting for you.

I'm now in my late 40s and have great experience, but often get told in positions I apply/interview for that I'm "too experienced" or "overqualified", even if I'm right in the salary range they've listed. My take is that when people tell me "I'm too experienced," most of the time, it's the legal way to say I'm too old.
