Maybe the best photo I've ever taken.

Noticed the light on the bathroom wall (New Hampshire winter sunset light refracted through the bathroom window) as I was putting Lola down for a nap. Snagged my camera, caught this.

No credit to me. All I did was point and shoot.

But you do get the credit.

YOU saw the light.

AND you took the picture...

Well done!

On one side, a warmth suggested by the reddish brown paint, and a cold suggested but the view out the window. Looking at it, I know where I want to be.

but the curtain-less window would freak me out in the bathroom. ha
I'd ask for something to cover and yes, I see woods beyond but it's creepy to me. ha

Especially in that direction.

My modesty is secure here. Deep dark woods.

Observation is the most fundamental aspect of photography.

There are four keys to photography and you got all four of them:

1) Composition: that's the "point" part.

2) Lighting: This photo more than most is about lighting.

3) Timing: A few minutes earlier or later and the photo would have been lifeless by comparison.

4) Emotional connection to the viewer. It all comes together with the hint of cold winter outside and the warm fiery light inside.

"All I did ..."; All you did was mastefully combine the four keys.
