Ginter was carrying a load of eggs from Winnipeg to Montreal when the near-collision occurred.

Ginter posted the video to YouTube hoping to identify the other driver who failed to stop. His truck, which he says “only has 95,000 kilometres on it,” sustained serious damage after hitting the guardrail.

“We didn’t want to put this on YouTube to throw anybody under the bus, but my insurance is leaving me with the deductable,” he said.

All told, including the towing charge back to Winnipeg, Ginter says he is out almost $30,000.

Probably destroyed all the tires and rims on the right side as well as the right front of the bumper and the hood, requiring both items to be replaced. Likely tore up any side fairings he had and possibly damaged the fuel tank.

From the looks of the hood, I am guessing it is a Kenworth T-660 like this;

I've driven down roads that looked like that.

Seeing that driver coming at you with no where to go is a pucker factor 10, as they say!

The tractor trailer driver was at fault for trying to pass a plow on an upgrade...

BUT...

The fucking plow driver should have lifted, for fucks sake. As soon as he saw what was happening, just lift, let the guy pass and be done with it. That plow almost assuredly had chains on. Starting up again would have been no problem.

The problem of course, is that both of them may have lifted at the same time and then you have done nothing but slow down the roadblock! But as someone who gets passed regularly, as soon as I saw the semi trying to pass me, way before I saw oncoming traffic, I would have lifted.

I was traveling northbound on a state road, just under the seed limit (40/45 mph as the conditions allowed) in a company truck when as I passed a side road, a municipal plow truck ignored a stop sign and rammed straight into the side of my truck. Somehow, someway i managed to keep it on the road, unscathed. Even the wing operator remarked how remarkable it was i did not ditch the truck, or worse.

Took me several hours afterwards to finally calm mysef down after the experience.

The law enforcement officer stated repeatedly the plow driver was at fault, regardless of several attempts by the supervisor claiming that ths orange beacon places the vehicle under special emergency vehicle jurisdiction, and i should have yielded to the plow truck. I knew this to be factually incorrect the entire time, however it was very frustrating at the time of the incident...

I never saw the police report as it went straight to my employer, so Im not sure if the operator was ever ticketed.

The driver of the south bound tractor trailer unit continued south without stopping. The dramatic, dashcam video of the incident went viral on YouTube.com and was provided to police by the the north bound driver.

Using the video, police were able to identify the vehicle and the driver of the south bound tractor trailer. The 31-year-old driver from Milton, Ont., faces charges.

The investigation is continuing and the name of the driver cannot be released until formal charges have been laid.

"It was obvious from the video, which has garnered a lot of attention from social media sites, that this incident could have easily resulted in much more tragic circumstances,” said Staff Sergeant Randy Bye, OPP detachment commander in Nipigon.
