Pat Metheny is my favorite guitarist. And we all know who he learned his licks from. Pat said he met Wes in '68 right before he died and Wes told him he needed to learn all the notes on the instrument.
As far as Pat, I love "We Live Here" "Secret Story" and "A Map of the World" movie soundtrack. And I have a few vinyls from when Pat's label was ECM in Oslo.
I don't like the stuff he plays that sounds like white noise with no chord structure or melody like "Speaking of Now".
Pat and Lyle Mays need one thing: To get their split ends trimmed and apply some conditioner. They are both attractive guys.
