I knew a girl once that could have been a star ballerina with the Bolshoi. But she threw it all away for a cheap avocado, parsley and lettuce smoothie.

lost alot of weight on smoothies. But she has no sugar or fruit in them whatsoever. So I followed her recipe but bought parsley instead of cilantro. I mean how much difference could that make??? Well it did make a difference. I need to cut this stuff with some hard flavour. I‘m thinking hot sauce of some kind right now. It is important as I have a dozen bags of the greens in my freezer.

I love it as a vegetable 'side dish'!
Put a bit of butter and/or olive oil in a frying pan and throw in parsley leaves and tender stems. Maybe sprinkle a bit of salt on it. It gets a bit crispy and develops a delicious nutty flavor, very different from raw parsley. It would also be good sprinkled on a salad as you would sunflower seeds, bacon bits, or croutons.

I love avocado with beets and walnuts in a salad so I imagine it would be great in a smoothie.

Can you add any other veggies like carrots, celery, beets, spinach and tomatoes to the veggies you already have? I'm wondering if you need more vegetable tastes and textures to "help" your smoothie as well.

Here's a recipe for a "homemade" V8 juice I've made before which I presume could be modified to help make tastier smoothies...
