I've been meaning to say this for a long time but just today my memory was refreshed of an irritating ( and dangerous ) trend I've been noticing.
When traveling along on a major road I notice a lot more extremely rude behavior on the part of those pulling out from side streets with stop signs: They come flying up to the intersection with not the slightest intention of even slowing down, let alone make a full stop. They'll stop of course when the wall of traffic is so thick they literally can't pull out, but hell, 3-4 car lengths from the intersection they're still doing like 30 mph! If it's their intention of playing chicken and "stealing" my right of way....it's working. I have had cars that shoot up to the intersection so abruptly I've freaked out and slowed down, and then they used this opportunity to pull right out in front of me. I've noticed this is even worse if I'm driving my classic 44 year old car. It's like they know I'm protective of it and I will drive very defensively and some take full advantage of that and drive very offensively.
Why do people have to be such selfish jerks?

But seriously, I've seen the same sort of behavior and it is annoying.
Especially for those of us who want to keep driving.
On the other hand, I was just in Pittsburgh for a week and the drivers there are much better than the drivers here in Philadelphia. Almost none of them drive with cell phones in hand and I didn't see anyone texting.
