Feeling very lucky today
It's my mom's 80th birthday.
Almost all my friends have lost at least one parent. I have both of mine (80 and 83) and not only are they alive but they are healthy and vital and active.

You really are fortunate! Lost my father in '76 at the age of 43. Mom turned 80 in December, Alzheimer's.....sucks! At least on some days, she thinks I am her father and that is OK. I know they had a good relationship and he was one of the few men she felt safe around. Every once in a while she'll look at my 6'1" frame and ask "I gave birth to you?!? Owe!" and then a shocked giggle.
