LynneSin Reviews: McDonald's Chicken McBites

Essentially they are overfried balls of breading with one tiny tiny sliver of chicken inside.

I ate 2 and tossed the rest. Only got them because I was at the drive thru in dire need of a Chocolate Milkshake!

They serve chicken? Weird. Last I heard it was ground up dead bird, bleached and molded. HopeHoops Feb 2012 #4

And apparently some Republican thinks it's flavored with aborted fetuses, but I think that would take too much work for McFood.

I work in a desolate area rife with corporate office parks but with only Mickey D's, Denny's and the county building cafeteria within a mile.

My go-to place for a quick chicken fix is Popeye's. They have pretty rigid rules about how long the chicken can sit around (not long at all).

I've posted several times on Vallco, a local mall that is WELL past is glory days (The AMC Theater, Sears, Macy's and Penny's basically keep it alive).

The food court is a joke...most of the restaurants have failed, most of the spaces are boarded up. I knew one of the owners (his place also went out of business). He knew another one of the owners and shared a story with me. This other guy owned a Burger King (still there) and a Popeye's (gone). The Popeye's is gone because they couldn't cook the food in advance (no customers) and people who did show up didn't want to wait for it to be freshly cooked. He threw out a ton of food. I asked why it wasn't donated to local food banks / soup kitchens. He couldn't answer that because he hadn't asked the owner. Burger King is still there...most of their business comes from school kids coming in and buying cokes and fries. Hardly anyone orders burgers / meals, and I guess when they do, they are cooked to order (a rarity for Burger King). What they do cook is held for the maximum time, which is a hell of a lot longer than Popeye's.
