I was standing in the lobby of a building talking with someone and George (Sr) and Barbara Bush walked in.
I looked over like 'is that George Bush?' and he stepped over to me and extend his right hand. Not low like for a handshake but chest high and to the side. I moved my hand to his and he took it and we started to waltz (!?) His secret service just watched with a vague eye roll like 'here we go again.' They treated him like he was senile and I just played along and was just trying to remember my waltz and not step on his feet. He was leading, by the way, his left hand on my waist.
There was no music. He was sort of humming. We waltzed around in a little circle in the lobby of this building for 30 seconds or so and then Bar said "we need to go" and he thanked me, broke it off and his whole posse went to the elevators.
Then I woke up.
What the heck?

(14,549 posts)and his posse came to the gate I was waiting at 11/22 at LaGuardia airport. My reaction was similar, like 'is that Dick Cheney?' and then Cheney posed for pictures with people who came up to him. And all of that happened right as the moment of silence for the 50th anniversary of JFK's assassination was running on the TVs.
Also a friend of mine likes to joke about GWB's line "I don't know about economics but I can do a little dance..." and THAT friend likes to waltz.

(27,630 posts)I would have hoped that Quaker Oatmeal Man had swept me up in her arms, slammed me down on the grand piano, and then Billy Ray Cyrus showed us how to do the Line Dance Waltz.

(4,243 posts)I had a dream last night that Detective Stabler from Law and Order SVU asked me to marry him. I was really nervous about it because I felt like we didn't know each other well enough yet.

(68,918 posts)The characters, not Ellen Pompeo and Sandra Oh. My dorm room (we were changing rooms and moving from Freshman-oh to be 14 again-to Sophomore floors) had a really cool retro Coke machine and a bunch of 80s sports icon posters on the wall...
And the head of a local dog rescue here in town was the housemother.
It was a really freaking weird dream.

(41,202 posts)that a family friend was having a lot of house repairs done, and I was required to go there and supervise, even though I have few skills in that direction. It turned out that the main builder was David Cameron, and he was doing everything wrong, and I was getting the blame for it!

(41,202 posts)don't know how to stop it.
I partly blame the 'Uncle Arthur's Bedtime Stories' series that I read as a kid; one story is about two naughty children who get in their uncle's car and play with the controls, and the car starts to run off with them. They were rescued just in time by a brave neighbour, but the story really scared me.
As a variant, I once dreamt that I was driving in London, and somehow got to a restaurant without any memory of how I'd got there. I then sat down STILL IN THE CAR at a table, and started to order a meal.

I've dreamed that quite a bit lately.

(14,549 posts)and variations like the car is super high and hard to steer or it becomes a sort of amorphous RV and I can't get back to the steering wheel. And I agree with the poster who said it is a reflection of feeling like something in your life is out of control.

I hope my subconcious doesn't take the hint and give me the same dream!

(32,073 posts)My brother, Michael J. Fox, and I were in the garage of the house where I lived in grade school, working on my brother's car. I looked out, and there was a guy across the street shooting up the neighborhood with a flame thrower. Scary as hell. And, weird as hell. I have no idea what Mike Fox was doing in my dream. But, it sure beats the recurrent "stuck in a faulty elevator that either plunges several feet-to-multiple stories before stopping, or gets stuck between floors." dream.
