Matthew McConaughey's best performance since "Dazed and Confused".
Harrelson is almost as good in a very tough role.
My heart was seriously in my throat for a full 15 minutes during the last episode.
I cannot WAIT for the next one.

(149,587 posts)It is very well done.
I'm glad they're only an hour long--they are so intense that I'm shivering for most of the show! I don't think I could take much more...

(22,434 posts)The differences between the two detectives, the dialog (especially from McConaughey's character)
and the heavily saturated cinematography are spellbinding!

(448 posts)Monday morning that I HAVE to watch it. The problem is I don't know how to watch it now that I've missed all but the first episode. I'm assuming they'll repeat it sometime before the next season. It would be very cool if they had a marathon now before they air the last episode (or two -I'm not sure but my understanding is that his season is almost over). Does anyone know if they're planning on doing that?

(2,086 posts)Excellent performances by Harrelson & McConaughey, great supporting actors. Excellent and truly suspenseful plotting.
I understand that the next season will be a different story-line and characters, I'm hoping they can keep up this quality.
I really expect a heap of awards to go to this series.

(28,252 posts)"True Detective" is Exhibit A for the gratifying trend of TV overtaking movies in terms of great drama presentations. Sorry to see the last episode coming up.
