Hollywood in color: Old black and white photos reproduced in full color.

I love these! It really does 'bring them to life'.

A photo-retoucher has taken colorizing old photos and turned it into an art-form. Wayne Degan of Metacolor takes black and white photographs and adds color pigment to them using Photoshop to give the portraits a whole new life.

Degan's technique is so effective that it seems to bring faces to life, altering facial expressions and adding nuance and personality that wasn't there in the monochrome images.

Most recently, he's been coloring images of movie and television stars in their younger years, showing them in a way they've never been seen before.

From Susan Sarandon to Stephen Colbert, Degan's portraits are both accurate portraits of their subjects, and expressions of Degan's own artistic skill.
