My refrigerator cats have been thwarted by my newish frig-on-top, freezer-on-bottom model.

Do you always let the cat pick it's own food? I would not trust my dog in my fridge, she has quite the sweet tooth and would never choose to eat her vegetables

It doesn't look like your typical house cat.

(115,584 posts)3. I have a refrigerator cat.
He isn't as exotic as that one - he's a chubby, fluffy orange and white guy - but every time I open the fridge he's got his fat little face in there, looking for meat. I have to shove him out of the way to close the door, or he'd get right in there and eat all the ham.

putting things out of reach stop a cat?

(50,566 posts)8. Well, that's true.
But I had one kitty who would insert himself in the frig every single time I opened the door. With the new frig the kitties have sort of given up on the practice.
