My cat learned early on that I don't even notice him when I am asleep. On the other hand, it could be a big problem if there is an emergency in the middle of the night.

or they will keep it up. Locking them out does no good. I have a big hole in the carpet under the door now. *grrr*

But instead of the baseball bat, the claws would come out (near the eyes).

i used to have cats when i was a kid
until we found out i was terribly allergic and that was what kept triggering asthma attacks and kept me coughing because i couldn't breathe good
but i loved them so much. i had a crazy cat who ran away and then we had a cat who had beautiful kittens.
we had to give the mama cat and two kittens to a shelter. that was my first real loss in life -- i was devastated about losing them. i was 8 years old and had the top half of me inside the cage with them--my mom had to pull me away, crying and hysterical. years later she told me if she had known what some of these "shelters" do she never would have put them there. it broke her heart too.

seven years later we got a dog. luckily i wasn't allergic to dogs.

Except it is missing the constant licking of my arm, face, leg, any skin not covered by a blanket.

Simon's cat is every cat.

And this answers the question posted by that other thread. I think I'll go add it.
