question for bird watchers

inspired by Into The Wind's beautiful photographs.... is my memory off? I thought robins heralded the beginning of spring. Suddenly I seem to be seeing them all winter here (I live near Philadelphia).

Is this climate change? Is my memory wrong?

Just wondering....

Growing up the first robin was always a sign of spring. As I got older, it took longer for them to leave and they started coming back earlier. By the time I left (at 40) there were the bold ones that didn't seem to wanna make the journey and just braved the cold.

I'm assuming it has to do with climate change, but I'm no scientist.

When the ground begins to thaw worms seem to be plentiful.

Thanks for the complement. I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the Robins on my deck. I hope you also saw "One Dove" from the last snowstorm.
