I pulled up to the red light at the intersection...

The white SUV next to me had all the windows down and the mother and teenage daughter in it were singing along with Journey's Don't Stop Believin' that was blasting from the car's speakers.
They got really self-conscious for a moment when they saw me...
until I started singing along with them.
They thought is was awesome, smiling, laughing and singing.
My dog was in the car and thought we were all crazy.
We rocked it as a trio until the light changed and then drove off on our separate ways.

Great album.

BTW, did you ask if they had any Grey Poupon while you were at the stoplight?
I actually did that once with two girls in a convertible and cracked up both of them.

I have a dark secret- I love "You Should Be Dancing" by the Bee Gees. There, I said it. Anyways, I had it blaring, and was sitting at a red light. I then realized my window was open. Ever see the Southwest commercial "ever want to get away"? I know I did at the time.

Definitely sing along with it! I sing in my car a lot but when a particular favorite comes on I dance to it too!

i would think this unique moment the three of you shared will be relayed to others (as you did here) by each of you for some time.

that is very cool.

and, just fyi--my "belting" car song (although i try to do the neighborhood a favor and keep the windows up--even though anyone can still clearly hear me) is another journey song: lovin touchin squeezin

My dog gives me the squint eye, one ear back look when I do odd dance moves to the radio music in the kitchen.

I know people get especially attached to the music of their teens and twenties, which for me was in the '60's and 70's, but I appreciate a good song, and that is one!
My son graduated in 2013 and his high school band teacher often had the kids play the songs he grew up with, twenty years later than my husband and me, and 'Don't Stop Believin'' was in their repertoire.
After watching the Beatles fifty year anniversary special, it reminded me again how good music is also appreciated by other generations!
