but I'll sure throw some bacon fat in my pintos for refried beans. I try not to be in houses that have lima beans though. Bleah.

my problem is I could never look at a pork chop and NOT fry it up. Poor thing would never make it to the bean pot.

I like my veggies plain. And we have far too much meat and fat in our diets as it is.

I do like ketchup on lima beans as an occasional bad choice (tons of sodium and corn syrup)

Had a beau for 17 years who had high cholesterol and a heart attack, that got me used to it.
Then I married a man with a prior heart attack, cholesterol issues, diabetes and now CKD.
The kidney disease forced him to listen to me and only eat what I feed him
Doc says he may now be cured of diabetes and not need cholesterol meds either, down to a very
low limit and might drop them altogether shortly.

We are what we eat!

but I prefer bacon or a hambone.

oh that is pintos only, I have an aversion to lima beans. and kidney beans. too dry for my taste/texture issues.
