Relax, it wasn't a komodo dragon Matthew BRODERICK handled in "The Freshman" - however

Salvadori's monitors are equally fatal with their bite. Perhaps the magic(sic) of movie making was a rubber Salvadori monitor?

Otoh, did everybody know what a money grubbing p***k (= Komodo dragon) BRANDO was? Feel free to add whatever other character flaws he had, for my low life edification.

The Komodo dragons are actually Salvadori's monitors.

The Komodo Dragon is an endangered species, however not nearly as endangered as presented in The Freshman. Its population is stable, and it is in no danger from man as it lives on an uninhabited island. About 3000 are estimated to live in the wild.

******FROM WIKI: In general V. salvadorii avoids human contact, but its bite is capable of causing infection, like the Komodo dragon's.[5] One fatality was reported from a bite in 1983 when a Papuan woman was bitten and later died from an infection. :END WIKI*******

During post-production, Marlon Brando publicly condemned the film and claimed it would be the biggest turkey of all time. This was because Brando asked for an additional $1 million when the shoot was extended an extra week. When the producers refused, Brando threatened to badmouth the film in the press. They still refused and Brando followed through with his threat. The following day, the producers paid Brando the money and Brando publicly praised the film.
