dang! I've somehow hidden my toolbar and URL bar on my pc! help me, techies!

I now can only get them to show when I hover over the top of my screen with my cursor.

I know it has something to do with the control panel but damned if I can find where......

1. Have you looked under the couch?...

Is this in Firefox ? If so right click on the empty space to the right of the tabs then click on Menu Bar
Then View -> Toolbars and click on Navigation Toolbar.

2. when I right click I don't get the option for Properties

I have Windows Vista.

7. Did you lose the Windows taskbar or the Firefox toolbar?

If you've lost the Windows taskbar next time you see it right click on it and then click on Properties and then
uncheck the [V] Auto-hide the Taskbar box.

9. It was a little icon which I right clicked in desperation and got the Hide Toobar thingie.

It was checked, god knows how. So I just unchecked it and all is well with no drama...

3. Try right-clicking at top of screen (above address bar)

See if that gives you a drop-down menu to turn on the address bar and toolbar.

6. OK, I clicked on a little icon and got the "hide toolbars" which was CHECKED! So I

unchecked it, but how did it get checked in the first place?

I've done stupid stuff before (my computer guy called it "fat finger" and laughed). This is a new one...whew!

8. I just stumbled on the cure...found where I could uncheck the Hide Toolbar...but how it got

11. Been there, done that. Twice in recent years.

12. I can only surmise that when I couldin't sleep last night and went online I

somehow did it...I am often wakeful in the night and am up for about an hour or so...perhaps I did it mistakenly when I was a bit groggy...but it hasn't happened to me for a while now...usually I am alert enough...but I AM getting older...ugh...

5. Try hitting ESC. If you are in full screen mode, that may turn it off.

I must say I never thought of hitting ESC...I'll remember that for another one of my goofs on the computer!
