a 35 min kettle bell circuit. Feeling pretty good.
Had 2 surgeries this winter so I'm trying to get back in the groove.
I have a 5k in May, June & July.
Who else is getting back to exercising?

(20,043 posts)we've had a a few kinda nice days made me want to get out and do something.
Takes so long to get where you want to be and just a short off and you're starting all over again.

(20,043 posts)to get back out there. I kinda suck at gardening..except cutting the grass, but I do love being outside.
I'll take my kettlebells to the backyard and do them. I know all the circuits by heart.

(66,316 posts)I do those indoors. But I admit, the outdoors looks pretty from my window.
Exercising in front of the TV helps me go longer without getting bored.
Good to see you, one_voice!...

(20,043 posts)Good to see you too. Hope all is well with you.
I tried the elliptical I hate it. LOL
I prefer running outside to the treadmill...even in the cold and heat. I put my Ipod on and I just go.
My kettle bells are like weights for me. I do presses, curls, rows, etc. I love working with them. I usually do them in front of the tv too. I'll put an hour show on and when it's done I'm done. I have most of the circuits memorized.
My son is gonna show me how to do dead lifts with the barbell and I'm going to start benching. Woo-hoo. I'm also getting back to my heavy bag.
I like to mix it up. Less chance of getting bored.

(4,243 posts)I've been doing all of my running in the gym this winter. Good luck on your 5K's!
I'm doing a half marathon at the end of April. Right now my running routine is 9, 3, break, 9, 3, 6, break.
Let me know how you do on your 5K's. I'll be cheering for you in spirit!

(20,043 posts)My daughter is doing a half marathon this month and a full one in May. She loves to run. She'll blow out 10 miles in no time. I'll be happy if I can get back to 4 miles...lol.
Good luck on your half marathon! Hopefully you'll be able to get outside soon. Have fun!

(9,527 posts)I currently do parkour 3 days a week, gymnastics 4 days a week, capoeira 1 day a week, run on a treadmill 3 to 4 times a week and either once or twice a week do other workouts in the gym.
I did stop running for a couple of months due to a bad shin splint, donating blood (who knew being down 2 pints of red blood would make cardio hard?) and then getting sick.
But then again, I pretty much have no life outside of that, so it's not a choice for everybody. It's the price to pay if I want to accomplish the things I want to accomplish in terms of my physical goals. Although I still haven't figured out why a guy with one bad knee and one worse knee decided he wanted to run a sub 30 minute 5k. I figure if I stubbornly refuse to accept reality long enough, it will bend to my will.

I try to workout 5 days a week. Been on a good schedule this winter. But can't wait for the warmer weather so I can go hiking again.

(135,060 posts)Been off and on a bit lately but spring is finally here in TX(which means summer is just around the corner!) so back to my walking routine. I try to do at least 2 miles a day with a few 5 milers thrown in. Also do Pilates 3x a week at a studio and at home the other days for an hour.
