Well, maybe once when I had dinner at the home of a HS classmate whose dad was a VP at Price Waterhouse.

Parkay Margarine had an old commercial touting their buttery flavor. When you opened the magarine tub, it said "Butter."

When I was checking out at the market one day with a tub of that stuff, the cashier held it up and asked for a price check on the PA system.

Another quick-witted cashier came back on the PA, in the commercial voice, with "Butter." Everybody in the store cracked up.

It was always margarine in my youth. Then at age 20 I started seeing a woman who used butter on everything, including putting a slab in cream soups and oatmeal. I've never looked back...
