Does anyone like what they've done with this show?
It's the new characters that ruin the show, imo. They're all boring and unlikeable. It's strange that they decided to massacre this show so much.

(58,641 posts)nobody ever lost money underestimating the taste of the American public?
I think Barnum may have said that.

(4,524 posts)Some shows end appropriately (when they've run out of steam). Others, like Two and a Half Men, bleed every dollar out by adding new characters, completely new stories, and having guest stars.
Two and a Half Men now is what The Big Bang Theory would be without Sheldon and Penny. Knowing Chuck Lorre, it might happen.

(4,524 posts)The Fonz entered space, circled the earth, and came crashing down far over the shark with that change (along with Jake pretty much leaving the show).

(63 posts)Probably just to spite Charlie Sheen, and prove a point that the show could survive without him. The problem is, it can't. No offence to Ashton Kutcher, because it would have sucked no matter who they picked as a replacement, but Charlie Sheen was Two And A Half Men.
Probably waiting for somebody's contract to run out too.
The Second Stone
(2,900 posts)and Cryer can't carry the show by himself. As Berta once put it, God looks out for fools and drunks and the bizarre success of Charlie Harper, who lucked into everything, compared to the Charlie Brown style nothing ever goes right for Alan Harper, despite the fact that he started out as a good person and degenerated into a complete middle aged failure was what made the show poignant.
