(12,723 posts)The mission is NOT the same. This guy is a time traveler seeking to eradicate the virus. That was not what 12 Monkeys was about.they will probably lose all the stuff about questioning his sanity and any subtlety the original had.
I do wonder if they will keep the stuff from La Jette and have to credit Chris Marker as well?

(287 posts)From Dusk Till Dawn is premiering as a series soon, I think on FX or TNT. I'm sure it's gonna be awesome <rolls eyes>

(12,132 posts)The first DtD movie was great. (The rest not so much).
But the TV series I am MOST looking forward to is Fargo.

(287 posts)I am definitely gonna give Fargo a try. I think it lends itself well to serialization. If well cast and quirky, it has the potential to be a big winner.

(21,925 posts)but their many previous tries at original concepts and stories have been formulaic and unimaginative. It might help if they hired science fiction writers. And if they didn't cast their movies with slick young actors who all look like mannequins, like they came from the same soap opera.

(21,925 posts)but in my opinion Sharknado was maybe a little too imaginative?

(56,828 posts)they do employ a lot of actors/actresses who used to be somewhat famous - Ian Zeiring from 90210 in the early to mid 90s and Tara Reid from 10-15 years back used to be minor celebrities.
Heck, I remember one movie they had that starred Bruce "Capt Sheriden" Boxleitner, Walter "Chekhov" Koening, Gil "Buck Rogers" Gerard and one or two others that I'm forgetting.
