First time I've ever had to do that. In my defence, it's largely because of a bug in TurboTax where it won't import my broker information. TurboTax blames the financial institution, financial institution blames TurboTax, and there's me caught in the middle.

I'll still have to send in how much I think I'll be owing...

i'm sipping some coffee with a vanilla latte flavoring but i'll be downing a couple vodka & tonics later tonight when you're sound asleep no doubt. but i'll drink a toast to you then anyway.

i did my crap today (the long way: on paper) and dumped it in the p.o. box this evening.

fuck it.

yeah, not my favorite agency that is for sure.

I was trying to stay out of those threads but I was looking at something for MIRT and I couldn't refrain from a bit of uh...ignorance. maybe the person already has me on ignore. maybe I should go self-delete?

Just couldn't get my shit together.

Now I hire an accountant - not because I've got a lot of money or complicated taxes (I don't), but because I hate doing my taxes; I can never get my shit together; and I always make mistakes. So for the last couple of years I've had somebody do it who knows what they're doing and I don't have to think about it. It's worth every dime.

to pull all the papers and figures together to give to the tax preparer.

I used to use Turbo-tax, but for the year my spouse died, I thought it would be more complicated and gave it to a pro.

and I am not sure the IRS free turbo tax can handle it all...though my taxes have always been insanely complicated (especially for so little income ) and that program has been great.

No way I can pay what I owe.

Tomorrow, I too will be having a beer.

Or two.
