My old car leaked oil something terrible. My garage has this huge oil spot and I was curious if anyone knows how to get rid of it. I've heard kitty litter might absorb some of it but was curious if anyone knows of a way to get it removed permanently.

(45,056 posts)dump cat litter all over the oil stain and use a stiff shop broom to scrub the litter back and forth. Might have to do it twice but it always works on our garage floor.

He took a piece of heavy duty cardbord and wired it it under the engine of the family car. He put a diaper on the car.

(12,503 posts)Get on your hands and knees with a 6 to 10 inch piece of 2 x 4 lumber, and use the wood like a scrub brush. As the clay litter particles break up from you crushing them as you scrub, the oil stain gets lifted out of the pores of the concrete. Real clean.
I've BTDT.

(24,853 posts)My truck leaked oil on my cement driveway. Wifey got PISSED. This stuff made it all go away. Little to no work. Put it on, let it dry, sweep it off.
Best stuff I ever used.

Trust me, a coworker at an old job broke a commercial container (the kind you have to move with a forklift) of cooking oil (with said forklift) and our parking lot looked like the top story of the nightly news. Tried cheaper methods, went with what works. Lesson learned.
