The daughter of my cousin, who loves One Direction.

I am still ashamed.

while driving in the car with my 19 year old daughter and her boyfriend.
I told them about how there is a baseball team that sings it during games (trying to justify not turning the station). I secretly have enjoyed it for years, but don't like to admit it.

I uniformly hated it all during its day but now I look back on it and admit it wasn't as bad as I thought, especially considering what came later in music. I even find myself tapping my feet to the Bee Gees Staying Alive, although I still can't bring myself to see Saturday Night Fever. I remember back in the 70s standing in a long line with my friends to get into the theater to see Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. Right next to our line was another long line of people trying to get in to see Saturday Night Fever. As a long haired jazz musician at the time, I remember looking at those people as if they were from another planet.

I like "Free for All" and "Stranglehold" by the despicable Ted Nugent.

I'm forced to play pop radio when the kids are in the car, and it turns out I like "Applause" by Lady Gaga.

.... never did and still don't. No shame there I guess. I do like the sound of Marty Robbins's voice but I 'll not hang my head in shame over that. I am trying hard to find a reason for being shameful when it comes to my preferences with music....ah I got one: I am still bummed over the outcome of American Idol Season 2.

Although, I'm probably not as ashamed of that as I ought to be.

I even went to see him in concert not that long ago......
