Seen this on FB. Have no clue who makes this, but I want one! I am in SE Arizona, a place where camping in one of the State Parks are a thing to do on a weekend. This would be awesome!

(23,487 posts)I think when camping if I had wifi I'd be on DU or other websites and not getting away from it all.
I'm not so good with the self control.

(14,120 posts)See, I LOVE Photography and Videography. And knowing the weather so you can get the best shots is vital.

(4,840 posts)by a company called Orange based in, I believe, the UK. That idea for a solar tent was floated out by that company in 2009. Sorry to tell you nothing has come of it yet.
A more modest version of a "solar tent" called the katabatic 2 solar was introduced last year but already seems to have stopped production or was never released.
The Orange idea for a solar tent is nice in concept but with those massive panels - even if they are flexible - it's not like you could carry it attached to your backpack. You'd probably need a car to transport it all. You could probably make a better, more portable solar tent yourself using your favorite tent and several of those Brunton roll up solar panels.

(676 posts)And expensive. Don't think I'd want to be in a tent in SE Arizona with the heat coming on.
