A Funeral in Scotland

An ancient belief in Scotland that was passed down from the Druid culture was that the last person to be deceased would remain in spirit at the church gate until the next person died. If two people were having a funeral at the same time, there would be a race to interment. If they met at the gate, the corpses would sometimes be thrown down and the living would settle by blows whose ghost was condemned to act as porter at the church gate until the next funeral.
