Whether you've already had it or look forward to it, what are songs you would never want to be played at your wedding? Here are some of mine:
Anything by Three Days Grace
"Don't Stop Believing" by Journey (I don't care if everyone loves this song, it's way too overplayed)
"Just Give Me A Reason" by Pink
And of course, the obvious suspects such as Rebecca Black, Justin Bieber, etc.

(6,199 posts)Really. I detest that piece.
True story: I was playing the "set your iPod to Shuffle and answer these questions with the song that comes up" game with a group of teenagers one night. The question was "What will you dance to at your wedding?". The song that came up? Suicidal Tendencies, "Institutionalized".

(4,138 posts)Of the traditional choices, Mendelssohn's is good.
We used the wedding march from The Marriage of Figaro at our wedding.

(6,199 posts)Paillard's performances are (imo) the loveliest pieces of music ever recorded.
Of course I am a contrarian, and not much of a fan of marriage, so I would be more likely to choose Metallica's "Orion", or in fact "Institutionalized", because why waste my favorite piece on a wedding?

(287 posts)While discussing our wedding arrangements, the subject came to choosing "our song", to which we would dance our first dance together as a married couple. Almost in unison,, we both said, "No 'We've Only Just Begun'". Everybody was using it, and we weren't "Carpenters People", anyway. We decided on Here, There and Everywhere. I'm happy with our choice, to this very day.
P.S I grew to like about 5 or 6 Carpenters songs. Karen had such a beautiful voice.

Idina Menzel was a wedding singer early in her career and she said this was one of the most requested songs at receptions. She says she always wanted to ask if people had actually listened to the lyrics.
