(49,978 posts)If "Mr. Roboto" had been on that list I would have to put you on ignore...
Coventina
(27,101 posts)I was never a fan.
These lists are limited to what I own.

(49,978 posts)A few on vinyl even!
Coventina
(27,101 posts)I'll never part with them, they're like old friends.....
Systematic Chaos
(8,601 posts)Kilroy was an awesome album even if it went full-bore pop instead of progressive. Hell -- Yes, Genesis and Supertramp were all guilty of the same thing back then, among others, and their 80s albums were all good.
I guess I'm just different or something.
Coventina
(27,101 posts)I will say, though, that prog bands are capable songwriters - I'm just not a fan of the genre on the whole.
Just not my thing.
I don't think that means you're unusual, prog has always had a healthy following, and judging by my circle of friends, still does.

(49,978 posts)My brother & I had vinyl of their early stuff. But by the early 80's I was transitioning to punk/new wave/international sounds. I guess Kilroy Was Here kind of 'jumped the shark' for me (YMMV).
I still listen to Yes and Supertramp. In fact I like their pop stuff more than the prog stuff.

(8,601 posts)That, out of a string of years starting in the mid 70s which were all amazing.
It all went to shit for me in 1988. Paula Abdul, New Kids on the Block, Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer were just too much slop, and it all just went downhill from there.
Coventina
(27,101 posts)The list above is very diverse musically, and full of stuff that is way more daring than anything that would be attempted now.
Can you imagine Annie Lennox just now coming on to the music scene? She would be shuttled immediately into the "alternative" category, and would never have a remote chance of having a big hit.
