So Republican Stepdad ordered pizza last night

taking a break from showing off his culinary skills, which are considerable.

It arrived in 30 minutes or less.

That's right, he ordered from Domino's. Yes, we are in NYC.

I'll give you a few minutes to process that.

If he tipped at all. Ordering a chain pizza pie in NYC......sigh......

Where's he from?

though he did live in Delaware as a small boy.

And amazingly, he isn't cheap like most repukes; he tips the NYC standard 20%!

From that area originally but has gotten super-duper conservative as he aged. Was always a "food freak" that liked authentic good ethnic food, especially Italian food.

Now his political partisanship has gone so haywire he's started singing the praises of corporate food. Big chain stuff. Especially likes the Darden group restaurants since their ACA health care law tantrums.

Now he "likes" Papa Johns pizza, Olive Garden, Red Lobster etc. What a nut.

Yes, I know NYC is known for the Italian food. But, if he didn't want to get any of that, and actually wanted Dominoes, what's the problem?

I hear that is a challenge when eating food like pizza.

But I agree with those above in that he should have been eating an authentic pizza pie, only with a knife and fork.

Why would anyone eat that shit when there's a fantastic mom & pops on every corner? Domino's tastes like vomit.

I live in San Antonio and I'd give ANYTHING to have a slice of local New Yor flavor. Have never found it here!

Was there not anyway you could have stopped him?

Where in NYC did this occur?

Sure, I could have stopped him, but why provoke an argument? We have enough of those when he comes back in the morning with the Post. He only buys the Times for the crossword puzzle!!

but I have to admit that every now and again all I look for in a pizza is a good old fashioned grease wheel. To do that I'll go to the Hut or Little Caesars for the crazy bread.
