Folk Cure for a Goiter
To cure a goiter draw a snake across the affected area nine times. After the third, sixth, and ninth time, allow the snake to slither a little bit on your neck. Afterwards, put the snake into a bottle and bury it. As the snake decays the goiter subsides. Or kill the snake and sew its skin into a silk neckerchief to be worn about the diseased neck.
