AMC's "Turn". Took me awhile, but I'm finally into it. *possible spoilers*

My husband practically had to force me to watch the first 3-4 episodes.

We watched "Epiphany" last night, and I have to say I'm finally hooked.

At first, it was so violent and confusing, I didn't understand really what was going on, but I didn't like the violence.

Now that I have it all sorted out, and the violence has come down a bit, it's much more enjoyable.

I also like that the British are not treated like cartoon villains, but have their own vices and virtues like real human beings.

Of course, my favorite British character is John Andre, and, we all know what happened to him, right?
I always fall for the beautiful and damned, it seems.
But, you gotta love a guy that'll give his girlfriend a hand-job in public, right?


And, of course, I find myself rooting for infidelity between Anna Strong and Abe Woodhull. 'Cuz I'm a romantic like that.


On edit: I just had to add that the "coitus interruptus" scene between Anna & Abe was just fantastic! I loved how he kisses her, she shoves him away. Then, she runs her tongue over her lips, tasting him, and then lunges back at him for more. Such an incredibly hot little detail to make the scene so real and, um, tangible, for the viewer. Those are two actors that know their craft.

Was "epiphany" the one where Woodhull gets captured and then the Brits rescue after killing his colonist captor?

3. No, I don't think I've seen the episode you describe. We're a little behind.

"Epiphany" was the one where Anna gets her property taken away, including her slaves.

It's also the one where Robert Rogers goes to see the captured Continental general in Andre's custody and calls him a traitor.
(I love the honor codes of war, they're just so....counter-intuitive sometimes.)

It's also the one where Ben and Caleb find out that Abe's intelligence was used by Washington to route the Hessians.

6. It is confusing - many characters in play, plus the intrigue.

There's info on the characters and their relationships on the AMC website.
I found it helpful.
Then I did some googling.

If Wikipedia is reliable, the TV show is playing a bit loose with history.
But, I'm not surprised by that.
