The lilacs are in!

The lilacs have managed to make their way into full bloom a few weeks late this Spring...

The neighborhood is awash with the sweet smell of lilacs and fresh rain after an early morning thunderstorm...

Used to have a yard full of them. Love the smell.
but...sigh...they do not grow so well here in Sub-tropical areas.

We DO have honeysuckle and sweet olive, tho.

11. I gave jars of it away to family for use in spritzers...

....champagne cocktail, and so on. We also drizzled it on vanilla ice cream. If I had an abundant supply of lilacs, I would make it to sell at farmers market. But I don't.

Like Dixiegrrrl.... I once had a yard full... one plant so old it had become a massive tree with hundreds of blooms on it... the aroma was intoxicating.

Lilacs and wisteria are favorites....
