The problem I noticed living in Germany was that the cuisine was excellently done, but of limited variety compared to others.

(666 posts)My girlfriends mom make this for me about once a week and I just cannot get enough of it. I know it's not traditional German food, but man is it good.

Also German round bread baked fresh from a village bakery. Speaking of bakeries, there is no greater agenda changer than walking past a German bakery with it's door open.

Weinerschnitzel and sauerkraut and just about anything they do with a potato (but potato pancakes are my favorite). All the sausages and stuff and Schwarzbier! I love it. Saurbraten, rouladen, and a pinch on the cheek from the sweet and sassy old lady that runs the German place near my house are just a few of the German foods I love.
