And concern, wondering if the idjits next door are going to set my roof or the incredibly dry foliage on fire. It sounds like a warzone. My cats have to be drugged to get through it. Unfun.

I can only imagine how the poor sods with PTSD feel tonight.

i used to have a dog that had a terrible time with this holiday and new years eve because of the fireworks.

have you tried those thundershirts for your cats? i hear they are very helpful.

like they've been poleaxed, so I'm not sure if a thundershirt would work . . . or just immobilize them! I appreciate the thought, though - thank you.

We give them Bachs' Rescue Remedy for cats - it's enough to keep them from freaking out.

We live in the desert. It is bone dry here and downright stupid to be slinging sparks around with abandon, but heaven forbid that we don't celebrate our decision to be our own country with explosives.

meh.

but last night it went on from about 7:00 pm to well past midnight. It got on my nerves and I don't understand why it takes so much of one thing to satisfy people.
