Why do people suck so much???

My sister, who is a head trauma nurse in a big ER, took a family vacation to come visit family. Her house got broken into and a lot of valuables were stolen. 4 flat screen tv's, 2 xboxes, all of her husbands guns, and all of her jewelry! She deserved some time off, and time away from home, and this happens!!!
I believe they know who did it, so I hope they are caught, and get most of their things back! It's been less than 24 hours since the break in.
It just sucks for her. I'm hurting for her. Poor thing didn't have renters insurance! So she cannot even file on that.
Why are people so mean??? Makes me wonder about humanity!!!

might make some sense. But with all of the possessions that you mentioned, it certainly does make sense to pay for a renters insurance policy. She might have to have a separate rider on the policy for the jewelry though.

In addition to the losses that you mention, renters insurance also provides liability protection against claims if someone is hurt in her apartment, or if an adjacent structure is damaged because a fire or water leak started in her apartment.

It's sad that the theft occurred and I hope that she recovers her belongings, but it is also an opportunity to learn some lessons about protecting her assets.

I would have thought she'd known better, however she's the only one working, and supporting her husband and 3 children. They have been living there for 7 years.

I have homeowners insurance on my home, and my parents own it. Pay over $100 a month, however it's better to have it, than not.

Just hurt to see her going through this.

They had a couple of teens living with them for almost a year, sponging off of them, and finally got rid of them back in May. We believe it was them, since the girls parents live just next door, and it's believed that they still have a key. Hind sight is 20/20, however they never changed their locks, and these kids know their house! Hate to say it's a fault on both parties. I feel for her, however she should have covered herself.

She would still have to file a police report in order for her to recover anything on a claim. Truly sad because she was trying to help and ended up getting burned in the process. They will learn a lot of valuable lessons from this experience.

If I was a woman, I would also be extremely wary letting teenage girls live in the same home as my unemployed husband. There are way too many things that could happen from affairs to false allegations of affairs. Your sister is either a saint or naive (or a bit of both). I hope that things work out for them.

And it was a couple!!! First she was my nephews girlfriend, and then she broke up with him and moved in her boyfriend. My sister is a softy! I wouldn't do that!!!

Report filed and hopefully they can recover most of their stuff. I'm just glad that I married a man that looks after things. House, cars, and people are insured. We pay out the nose, however, we are covered if anything happens.

I feel for her, however I had a feeling something like this would happen to her.
