http://blog.sfgate.com/hottopics/2014/07/23/4-year-old-banned-from-connecticut-doughnut-shop/According to WFSB, Doughnut Inn in Monroe, Connecticut has banned Justin Otero, 4, for being rude, a day after he asked a woman in the shop if she had a baby in her belly.
No word on if the ban is permanent, or if the childs mother, Rebecca Denham, would be able to purchase doughnuts from the shop for little Justin if she leaves him at home. It doesnt sound like shell be back there, however.

(8,217 posts)That just is bad business in that donut shop.
Basically tells everyone that their place is inhospitable for kids. Which, is a huge part of the reason people go to places like that.
Dumb.

(12,723 posts)Soon the mighty harrumphs of, "my kids know better" and "what is wrong with people that they can not control their spawn" and "that is why I don't like children" shall spew forth like Ol' Faithful or is it Ron Jeremy?
So a four-year old asked an innocuous question. Some folks are full of themselves just as surely as a certain doughnut shop shall soon be empty.

(4,851 posts)say things that might be rude if said by an adult, but simply are not rude coming from a 4 year old. A 4 year old does not know its rude to suggest a person is overweight. In fact, to a 4 year old, being overweight probably has no negative connotation to begin with. This is simply insane. My kids at 4 probably each did this same thing at some point and I had to say I was sorry and explain later why you never say that to someone.

(321 posts)When she was about 3 1/2 or so.... we had all gone to the mall and my now ex-wife wanted a hair cut. So, she is sitting in the chair and the guy cutting her hair was very obviously gay and quite flamboyant. My daughter started saying "mommy, why does he act like a girl? He is acting like a girl mommy" which kind of mortified me.
It really pissed the guy off and he started taking it out on my ex's hair. I stopped him and said "look, you and I both know that little kids don't have a filter on what they say so stop chopping her hair". And really they don't. I tried to explain as best I could to a 3 1/2 year old that sometimes people do that, but at that age they really don't have that concept.
When I was about 5 years old I heard an older kid say "fuck" and didn't know what that word meant. So, the next morning when my mom and my step dad were getting dressed for work I came in, sat down on the bed, and said "what does fuck mean?" My mom had been putting lipstick on at that moment and she turned her head so fast it left a line across one cheek. She said "ok Jake, you take this one...". So my step dad hemmed and hawed and finally said "It means damnit" I knew that word because I had heard it just before my name MANY times by then. But, to me it was just a perfectly innocent question.

(62,401 posts)was bad for people. Believe it or not you could still smoke in a grocery store back then.
So our oldest in the cart seat sees a woman smoking and say in her loudest voice:
"Mommy that woman is going to die. She's smoking." OMG what a look we got.
