(3,998 posts)We have humidity which we aren't used to. I live in a top floor apt. in an 100 yr old bldg, no shade trees. Luckily I have central a/c that is on 24/7!

(43,181 posts)Perhaps that makes me a strange bird, but there's something about them that I really take in.
I was flying back home from the Northeast last week into Florida and I was really taken back by the sublime beauty of the Florida peninsula. People often complain that Florida is too flat and devoid of distinguishable landmarks like mountains or hills. But what I saw as I landed--brilliant blue skies for a majority of the big, huge sky, and then randomly placed cumulonimbus clouds towering up giving some places their afternoon showers.
You just don't get skies like that in any other place in the country. Those are our "landmarks", our "mountains".
Another perfect day. I love FLA.

(4,465 posts)There is absolutely no humidity and the sun is out, no clouds, a light breeze and it's only in the 70s! and it's only going up to the low 80s today, it feels like early Fall! I opened my windows last night, in Summer! can't believe it.
I usually get so sad at the end of Summer when the weather is like this because I know soon the days will get shorter and the cold will set in. But this? at the height of Summer? GORgeous.
