The Industrial Age

In the late Victorian, early industrial age in Bradford, West Yorkshire, over 200 factory chimneys spewed out sulfurous smoke. There were frequent outbreaks of typhoid and cholera, and only 30% of children born to textile factory workers reached 15 years of age. Due to extreme infant and child mortality rates, the life expectancy was 18 years of age.
