Another day, another critter in the house. Yesterday the 2nd spider, today a bat

Are they mistaking me for Francis of Assisi?!1 And yes and yes and yaaass, I know how helpful bats are, not to mention that they have as much right to exist as I do. I don't know whether it's alive. It is on the floor cuddled up as tight as it can get into a corner. I thought about putting a plastic canister over it with a lid, but didn't get far with that. I asked animal control what to do, not expecting them to come over, but they said they are coming over. An hour ago.

O.K., it's gone now. The dudes put on heavy gloves and picked it up and bagged it in a ziplock UTUSN Aug 2014 #2

It woke up and was really perky and looked like a cute, mean little kid, just like the Count Chockula thing. The dudes walked around the outside and showed me gaps that lead to the attic that need to be closed up.

or maybe not, if you know bats, how tiny of an opening they can squeeze into.

Maybe a bat house or two would help, after you seal up any gaps on the house.

I have three bat houses. They keep the mosquito population under control

In my neck of the woods, there's been an alarming number of rabid bats lately. That's probably why animal control is coming over. Do not touch it!!
